Water Shortages

Thomas Sowell, of Capitalism Magazine, has an article on Water Shortages. The shortages, driven by subsidies for farmers, specifically cotton farmers, are just another example of hidden harms caused by our absurd agricultural policy.

Time reported last week that the water used worldwide to keep golf courses green could support 4.7 billion people, by UN minimum standards.

Upon hearing this Augusta National promised to scale back its water use, under the strict condition that the savings be diverted to quench the thirst of men only.
